The candidate will be joining two other PEM physicians and 25 EM physicians as Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital's Pediatric Emergency Department continues to grow. There is an exciting opportunity to choose between academic or clinical faculty. Salary and benefits are excellent with protected time for research and teaching. We are particularly interested in candidates who are Emergency Medicine trained who have completed a Fellowship in PEM. Carilion Clinic is a not-for-profit, multi-specialty physician led organization with 600+ physicians representing more than 60 specialties. Over the last 5 years, Carilion has expanded its commitment to medical education and research with the opening of The Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine in Roanoke on the Carilion Clinic main campus. Carilion has also developed multiple new residencies and fellowships including Emergency Medicine and Pediatric residencies. The Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute is performing world-class interdisciplinary and translational research. Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, a 791 bed teaching/tertiary care referral center is one of the largest and busiest Level 1 trauma centers in Virginia serving 1.5 million in southwest, Virginia and has over 100,000 square feet with 60+ beds with a separate 11 bed Peds ED.
